HCTA is the 501c that was established about 24 years ago and is the functioning entity. However, as we expand the facilities and the grounds we continue to foster and grow. TTPC or Thakkar Tennis and Pickleball Center becomes the center of HCTA umbrella.
Our club is flush with founding members and it impossible to miss the feeling of comradery and indeed pride amongst them. It is generally accepted that those members who started playing as a group, at Harder Hall, before the move to CC-Sebring. See their pictures below.
HCTA is a USTA Community Affiliate Organization and as such, holds USTA Tournaments on a regular basis at the Thakkar Tennis and Pickleball Center. Schedule below.
Back in 1983 there was a group of tennis players every few days at Harder Hall. They aspired to start a tennis club and with a jump start from Dr Vinod Thakkar, they bought the property that TTPC now sits on at the Country Club of Sebring and constructed 6 clay courts, that was in the year 2000. At about the same time, they started The Highlands County Tennis Association, a USTA Community Affiliate. Pictured above from left to right:

Those players are still very active on the court!
Pat Bentz is 91yo and is a Harder Hall Original. He served on the Board of Directors of HCTA for decades, actually only up to a few weeks before publication. He played national level USTA tournaments and still plays a few times a week and he's still GOT GAME! Still plays a couple rounds of golf a week and is a resident of Sebring Country Club.
